Natural Hair Transitions

Transitioning from natural to relaxed can very difficult for most women. I assure you it does not have to be. See the steps below.
  • Consult with a professional
  • Discuss your options "Big Chop or Transition"
  • If you decide to "Big Chop" you are quickly on your way. If you decide to transition, well this may take some time. It is worth it I assure you.  Transitioner should find protective styles to rock while in the most fragile phase.
  1. Phase 1- This is the most fragile state your hair will be in. Currently you have two textures of hair occupying the same strand and neither of them like it. (utilize protective styles such as Sew ins, wigs, rod sets, and even braid styles.)
  2. Phase 2- This part is better because you should have more natural hair on the strand than relaxed.(consistent trims and hydrating treatments during this phase)
  3. Phase 3- This is basically the last hoorah....its time to remove any relaxed hair that may be left. Get rid of it already....time to enjoy some curly girl styles.
